Electric car sharing for Cologne
|
The joint pilot project operated by GreenPeace Energy and car-sharing operator Cambio in Hamburg, is to be extended, the two partners have announced. The electric cars which are used in the programme, and which are additionally environmentally-friendly as they are recharged using ecologically-produced electricity, are now to be introduced into Cologne. GreenPeace Energy points out that an electric car can only really be considered to be ‘clean’ if it uses energy produced in this way. From March of this year, some 58 Mitsubishi Miev vehicles will be made available in Cologne. The cars will be located at Europe’s largest car-sharing station, on Maastrichter Strasse in Cologne’s Belgian District.
